Help improve the learning
We count actions such as lessons opened, hints used, and completed checks. Mixpanel receives daily totals, never your name, email, explorer nickname, answers, or a device identifier. We do not record your screen. These counts cannot follow a person between pages or devices.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control also turn these counts off. Local development and preview sites never send them.What we keep
Guest explorers’ nicknames and progress stay in this browser. An adult account stores your name, email, verification status and sign-in information. Passwords are stored as hashes. Google sign-in shares your basic profile and email with us.
When you sign in, we connect this browser’s passport and store its explorer nicknames and progress under your account. If existing histories conflict, we ask you to review them before syncing. We don’t require children’s email addresses or full names.
iPhone and iPad app
The native BrytaMaps app requires an adult account before learning. You can sign in with Apple, Google, or email and password. Learner nicknames and learning progress are saved under that adult account and can sync across devices. Children do not need their own email address. You can export or delete the account in the app’s Settings.
If you choose Google sign-in, Google’s iOS sign-in software declares that it may collect account identity and contact details, coarse location, device identifiers, and usage data for sign-in functionality and analytics. Its privacy manifest says these data can be linked to you and are not used for tracking. Apple sign-in uses Apple’s account authorization; choosing email and password does not require either social provider. The iOS app has no purchases or advertising.
Email and feedback
Account emails help you verify your address and recover access. A new verified account also notifies the administrator. Newsletter signup is separate and requires email confirmation. Feedback is stored for up to one year; reply email is optional.
Your choices
Export or delete your account from the account page. Unsubscribe from the newsletter in your account or from the email link. Deleting an account doesn’t erase passports already stored in a browser; manage those in My Passport.
Service providers
Cloudflare serves the website and cached narration. Hetzner runs the account service and Neon stores account progress. Production email uses Brevo. Google is contacted only if you choose Google sign-in. This app adds no advertising trackers. Necessary cookies keep you signed in and remember adult confirmation.
Feedback is retained for up to one year. Sent account-email recipient records are removed after 30 days. We keep a minimal delivery record to prevent duplicate welcome emails.
