Where should I start?
Choose Map Detective for a guided introduction, or open Learn to pick a focused path. Home brings your unfinished learning back to the front.
Do I need to sign in?
No. Maps, learning and practice are available without an account. Guest progress stays in this browser. If you clear browser data, use private browsing or change devices, that local progress may not be available.
How do I save across devices?
Open Adult account and sign in. We connect this browser’s passport automatically and save new discoveries while you’re signed in. If two devices have different histories, you’ll be asked to review them and can keep both. Wait for “Progress saved to your account” before closing the page or changing devices.
What if I lose my connection?
Learning can keep its progress in your browser when browser storage is available. Account saving retries when the connection returns. The save message at the bottom of the page shows whether the account has caught up.
Can more than one child use this browser?
Use My Passport to select or add an explorer. Each explorer keeps a separate learning history. Use nicknames, and have an adult sign out of their account when finished on a shared device.
How do I use the map?
Scroll or pinch to zoom, then drag to move around. The map’s plus, minus and reset controls help you find your bearings. Small places are easier to select after zooming in. In 3D, dragging changes your view; use the map controls to return to the starting view.
How do I control narration?
Use the lesson’s audio controls to play or pause instructions, change speed, and choose the male or female American-English voice. Audio is optional.
How do I report a mistake or get account help?
Use Contact & feedback. Include the page and what happened. A reply email is optional; do not include passwords or children’s personal details.
